Are you a couple of parents considering starting some type of support group? Texas Parent to Parent can help! We have experience in starting and maintaining support groups of many kinds and part of our mission is to help new groups start in areas where they are needed.

Are you a small, medium or large parent group that has a database and services for parents? Texas Parent to Parent would love to connect with you to share resources, information and volunteers. We also may be able to help with trainings such as matching parents for emotional support, training Supporting Parents, providing IEP/ARD support, facilitating emotional support groups, etc.

The large parent groups of Texas have collaborated to create the Texas Parent Group Network. Services include a listserv, technical support to new and existing parent groups, a Parent Group Manual and articles about parent support. We can also provide information that will help educate parents on family-centered care and the medical home model as well as other local, state, and federal issues that affect children with special health care needs. The Texas Parent Group Network start-up grant was provided by an Incentive Award from the Champions for Progress Center in collaboration with the Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) Title V Children with Special Health Care Needs Program. In addition, TxP2P can also put your group on our Website Resource Directory to assist parents in finding you.
