A statewide program designed to support families with children, birth to three, with disabilities and developmental delays. The main goal is to help these children reach their potential through developmental services provided by a variety of local agencies and organizations across Texas. Designated as the state’s principal authority on the vocational rehabilitation of Texans with disabilities, the main purpose is to assist people with disabilities to participate in their communities by achieving employment of choice, living as independently as possible, and accessing high quality services.

Assists blind or visually impaired individuals and their families, depending upon their goals and needs, to regain mobility or secure employment. The services vary by individual and are intended to be comprehensive in scope.

Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS)

Department of State Health Services (DSHS) Children with Special Health Care Needs (CSHCN) www.dshs.state.tx.us/cshcn/default.shtm 800-252-8023

CSHCN is made up of several programs that provide services to children with extraordinary medical needs, disabilities, and chronic conditions. The CSHCN health care benefits program pays for medical care, family support services, and related services not covered by Medicaid, CHIP, private insurances, or other “third party payor”.
