Parent to Parent Transition Center of Central Texas

The Texas Parent to Parent Transition Center of Central Texas is now open!

The goal of our P2P Transition Center of Central Texas is to assist families to develop high quality lives for their youth and adults with disabilities after they graduate from public school.

  • Create a transition center to work 1-1 with parents of teens and adults with disabilities from Central Texas, in a 1-2 hour consultation, either in person or via Zoom, during which we will work through a transition inventory and help the family to establish next steps and longer-range goals. During this session, we will direct the family to our referral bank and other opportunities as needed and desired. You can contact Adriana Valadez or Cynda Green to schedule an appointment at 866-896-6001 or 512-458-8600 or at Adriana.Valadez@txp2p.org or Cynda.Green@txp2p.org
  • Create a resource bank for families to access during the 1-1 session and afterward. The bank will provide families with relevant and trustworthy information and connections. We will also offer transition peer mentors and information on important transition topics.
  • Develop other opportunities for a family to work on their youth’s future: join a Transition Action Group, start a personal network, become a transition mentor, or become a network facilitator.
  • Develop a replication guide for family/parent programs around Texas to create similar transition centers.

Central Texas as we have defined it includes the following 18 counties: Bastrop, Bell, Bexar, Blanco, Burnet, Caldwell, Comal, Coryell, Falls, Lampasas, Guadalupe, Hays, Kendall, Lee, McLennan, Milam, Travis, Williamson.
