Ask Rosemary

As a parent of a child with a disability or special health care need, you may have many questions, but don’t know who to turn to for help, or what to do next. We encourage you to “Ask Rosemary” and you’ll receive a personal response from a TxP2P staff member or volunteer within two working days or sooner whenever possible.

We don’t pretend to be experts in all fields, so we may refer you to another agency, a lawyer or other professional when we think that is the best course of action. The response you receive will reflect the best opinion of the staff and volunteers of TxP2P. It is your responsibility to decide what is best for you and your family.

“We've all had questions and had no idea who to ask. After all, this is a new world to most of us – very few of us came into the world of disability or chronic illness with all the information to get us started. Our suggestion is to ask questions of everyone. However, there is one lady we all went to – Rosemary – she had the oldest child, had experience of high school when our kids were still in elementary or middle school, had another child without disabilities, had a calm manner that never made things worse or made us feel stupid for asking. And when she didn’t have the answer, she could send us to someone who might.
